Veterans Advocate Dr. Jeni Hunniecutt joins me to discuss her latest research involving veterans using cannabis as an alternative to opioids & benzodiazepines, and MDMA therapy in veteran populations.

We talk about the difficulty of beginning mindful meditation practices, the concept of spirituality as a drug, our cultural conceptions of love, and how to get drugs legalized.

We also dive into the connection between Christianity and our current state of affairs in the US, as a COVID-19 pandemic and a social movement (#BLM) blow up at the same time.

Are we in the midst of Civil War II? Would we know it if we were? Is the end of the war on drugs a way to move forward?

Ben gives a magnificent narrative regarding the real issues of our times, such as the supposed “War on drugs” that has costs more lives than it has saved. He peels the layers of the political corruption in prisons, racism that still runs rampant, and how society as a collective often act as the ostrich with their heads in the sand unwilling or rather unable to view issues in transparency due to generational beliefs, government lies, and church beliefs, just to name a few. I highly recommend this pod cast, today’s episode spoke about the necessity for mindfulness as we navigate through our own muck and seek the truth but in doing so Ben and his guest touch on many subjects that every person should give a second thought to and perhaps do your own research to understand why we are where we are today.
