Friday, June 27: In Acts 4, Peter and John stand before the Sanhedrin with unwavering faith, declaring Jesus as the source of salvation after healing a crippled man. Their boldness stuns the religious leaders, who take note that these “ordinary men” had been with Jesus. Despite threats, the apostles refuse to stop proclaiming the gospel. Instead of retreating in fear, the early believers pray for even greater boldness. The Holy Spirit fills them anew, and their united community lives with radical generosity and gospel power. This chapter showcases how Spirit-filled believers respond to persecution—with prayer, unity, and courageous witness. It challenges modern Christians to speak truth with love and to seek God's strength instead of safety. Acts 4 reminds us that God uses ordinary people to carry out His extraordinary mission. The church is never more powerful than when it trusts the Spirit and stands firm in Jesus’ name.
