What if your protein isn’t just fueling your muscles, but shaping the health of the planet—and your body—at the same time? In this episode, fourth-generation farmer Heidi Diestel reveals the truth about meat labels, regenerative farming, and how to tell whether the food on your plate is genuinely nourishing you or just posing as “healthy.”

Your guest Heidi knew what she was talking about and was so informative with the nutritional science and farming practices that I went out tonight and bought her $7 per pound ground turkey instead of the ground sausage that I had been planning to buy. Everything she said about what is on the nutritional label and price was exactly spot on at my local Raley’s in northern CA. I added my own seasonings to make it taste more like the Italian sausage that my recipe called for. It turned out great, and only the daughter I took to the grocery store knew it wasn’t sausage.
When she discussed how hard it is to have to do marketing when she is a farmer first - I hear you! But I must say that you were so eloquent and friendly, and you know how to speak the science about why your birds are nutritionally different, not only from a protein perspective, but a “healing the nutrient dentistry of our soil” perspective, to an audience of consumers in a way that makes sense and is easy to understand. Honestly your science and delivery sold me. Your passion about what you do came through loud and clear. Thank you and your family for what you do and please don’t stop!
