#5 - Using Dynamic Drills to Quiet the Front-brain During Motion

  • Resumen

  • Bruce Lee once said “The stillness in stillness is not the real stillness; only when there is stillness in movement does the universal rhythm manifest.”

Many mental performance coaches aren't training their players to enter The Zone during movement. This leaves a lot on the table. Although it's important to practice mindfulness and positive mental habits, none of it is useful unless the front-brain stays quiet throughout a sports-specific movement.

You can't train for that using positive affirmations or visualizations either, because the neural pathways related to your motion need to be trained during motion. It's akin to the saying: "practice like you play". If the goal is to enter The Zone while you're swinging a bat, shooting a basketball, or making a putt, then you must practice getting in The Zone with those movements.

That's where Dynamic Drills come in.
