#5 God is Angry But.... Propitiation

⚖️ 1. God’s Wrath Is Real—but It’s Not Against You (in Christ)

• Wrath isn’t God being emotional—it’s God being just
• Sin is real, so justice must be real
• But the question becomes: where did that wrath go?

✝️ 2. Propitiation: Wrath Was Fully Satisfied

• Jesus didn’t just cover sin—He absorbed what it deserved
• God didn’t ignore justice—He fulfilled it

👉 This means nothing is “left over” between you and God

🚪 3. Propitiation Creates an Invitation

This is where you lean in heavy.

Because of what Jesus did:

• You don’t have to clean yourself up first
• You don’t have to hide your sin
• You don’t have to wonder how God feels about you

📖 1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

👉 Notice: faithful AND just
God isn’t just being nice—He’s being just, because the payment has already been made.

🙌 4. Come Boldly, Not Fearfully

📖 Hebrews 4:16
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

• You’re not approaching a throne of wrath anymore
• You’re approaching a throne of grace

👉 Because wrath was already satisfied

🔄 5. What This Changes Practically

• You can be honest about your sin without fear
• You don’t live trying to earn God’s approval
• You move toward God instead of away from Him

👉 Propitiation doesn’t push you back—it pulls you in
