The first-ever decentralized cryptocurrency, Bitcoin, was born on January 3, 2009. On May 22, 2010, the user Jercos (Jeremy Sturdivant) bought 10,000 BTC from Laszlo Hanyecz on Bitcointalk.org. This is considered the first ever purchase of a physical good using cryptos.
