In Episode 36 of The Reset, Shaun talks directly to the dads and men who feel like they’re doing everything right… but still aren’t seeing the results they expect.
You’re going to the gym.
You’re training hard.
You’re trying to eat well.
But when you look in the mirror, it feels like nothing is really changing.
The common assumption is that the problem must be training harder or tightening up nutrition. But Shaun argues that the real issue is often something most people overlook.
Accumulated stress.
Imagine your body like a car that looks perfectly fine on the outside. It starts, it runs, and it gets you from point A to point B.
But under the hood, something isn’t quite right.
Maybe the engine is revving too high.
Maybe it’s running rough.
Maybe there’s a noise you’ve started to ignore because it’s become normal.
The same thing can happen in our bodies.
Throughout the day, small stressors begin to pile up:
Pressure from work.
Family responsibilities.
Poor sleep from late-night scrolling.
Diet choices that drain energy.
The constant pressure to always be “on.”
Each one adds a little more to what Shaun calls the stress bucket.
Individually, they may seem small. But over time they accumulate—and eventually that bucket overflows.
When that happens, it can show up in ways many men don’t immediately connect to stress:
Low energy
Interrupted sleep
Feeling constantly on edge
Difficulty focusing or being present
Plateaus in physical training
And ironically, even though exercise is meant to help relieve stress, many men find themselves stuck in a cycle where their training stops delivering the results they want.
That’s because the body can’t fully adapt and recover when it’s constantly operating under pressure.
The solution isn’t always more effort.
Sometimes it’s learning how to access deep rest and regulation—giving the nervous system the ability to reset so the body can actually respond to the work you’re already putting in.
That’s exactly what Shaun will be teaching in an upcoming live workshop called:
“How to Look Like You Actually Lift.”
In this 45-minute workshop, Shaun will break down the hidden factors that prevent men from seeing results—even when they’ve been training consistently for years—and show practical ways to reduce internal stress so the body can finally start responding.
The workshop is designed specifically for dads and busy men who want to:
Build an athletic-looking body
Feel energized again
Enjoy training instead of just going through the motions
Show up more present for their families
If you’ve been putting in the effort but not seeing the results you want, this episode offers a powerful reminder:
Sometimes the real work isn’t doing more.
It’s learning how to slow down, regulate, and let your body finally catch up.
If this resonates with you, Shaun has included the workshop link below.
