I do not believe in cover-up culture. When abuse is reported, it should be taken seriously and handled through appropriate reporting and legal processes. The church must support this process, and I know most do.
At the same time, the path forward for the Church after allegations have been reported, is not always simple or universally agreed upon. What some interpret as “cover-up culture,” others may view as discretion exercised to protect those involved while proper processes unfold. This statement is not intended to defend, accuse, or make a case in either direction.
My intent in this episode is simply to share my personal experience with Shawn Bolz and his team, to clarify where I stand in light of the serious allegations that have surfaced, and to explain the steps I am taking as I seek to live with integrity, wisdom, and care.
These matters are weighty and deserve appropriate process, truth, and discernment.
I was told by Shawn's team that he will be releasing his own statement soon.
Below is Patricia King's statement since she was accused of cover-up culture in the video.
