Ask most consultants who their dream client is.
One of two things happens.
They're stumped. The question surprises them. Some have a general sense of who they work with, but a specific dream client? They've never seriously gone there.
Or they know the answer immediately. And then they follow it with "but that's not realistic."
Both responses come from the same place: the belief that access isn't something you control. So either you don't bother defining the target, or you define it and immediately talk yourself out of it.
That belief is doing more damage to your pipeline than any tactic could fix.
Melisa challenges it directly, and then walks through three real examples of how consultants found workable paths to clients they'd written off as out of reach.
You don't need a perfect path in. You need a workable one. And you probably have more raw material to build that path than you think.
