215. When Helping Isn't Enough: Watching the Ones We Love Struggle

  • Resumen

  • In this episode, I’m opening up and sharing something personal — the why behind my decision to pursue certification as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner.

Over the past few years, I’ve watched my husband’s health slowly decline. And these last couple of months? They’ve been especially hard. He’s been dealing with ongoing lung issues, chronic fatigue, and an overall sense that his body just isn’t bouncing back — no matter what medications he tries or how much rest he gets.

As a wife, a healthcare provider, and a woman of faith, it’s been painful to feel so limited in how I can help. But it’s also been the spark that’s lit a fire in me to dig deeper — to go beyond symptom management and get to the root of what’s really going on.

In this episode, I share my heart, my frustration, and the moment I realized our bodies — created by God — are designed to heal, if we give them the right environment. That’s the foundation of functional health, and it’s why I believe so deeply in this next chapter of my calling.

If you’re walking through a similar season — watching someone you love struggle, feeling like traditional approaches just aren’t cutting it — I hope this episode brings you comfort, encouragement, and a new perspective on what’s possible.

    Topics covered in this episode:

    • My husband’s recent health struggles and what they’ve revealed
    • Why over-the-counter and prescription meds aren’t always the answer
    • How chronic stress impacts the immune system, hormones, and healing
    • Why I believe in the God-designed intelligence of the body
    • What functional health really means and how it aligns with faith
    • An invitation to pause, reflect, and consider a better way forward

I hope this episode blesses you!

    Xoxo,

    Tanya
