Acerca de esta escucha
Have you felt ashamed of your addiction? Do you want to experience God’s empowerment instead of judgement? Melissa Huray with an author and host of the Hope Report. She challenges our typical belief in addictions and shifts us to think of the radical hope of being free because of Jesus. Many think addictions are a disease but Melissa challenges us to see it as an attempt to solve a problem. In this episode you will hear about some of the controversial topics around addiction, deliverance, and mental health. Melissa believes that the medicalization of addiction keeps people trapped and that we have it forever. She experienced radical freedom from addiction but quickly realized her addiction was from trauma in her childhood, shame, image issues, self-esteem and panic attacks. We need to go after the root issues that cause the addiction, not medicate as a band-aid to the real problem. God wants us to feel empowered and free, not continually live in a place of shame for the rest of our life.
“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” ~Ephesians 2:10
