Episode Title: 🇸🇬 A City in Nature - Sustainable Tourism🇸🇬
In this #HTHospitalitySeries episode of Heads Talk, I talk with Huey Hong Ong, CSO Singapore Tourism Board. Singapore is on my list to visit in the near future and it was a delight to talk with Huey Hong about the work they are doing there to ensure they lead on sustainable travel.
Singapore has been certified as a sustainable destination based on the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC)'s Destination Criteria.
The country is the first to apply for the certification process on a country level, and the GSTC was established in 2010 with the support of the United Nations Foundation and UN Environment Programme.
I have been reliably informed that the images I see on videos and in pictures are exactly how things are in this country - a city in nature!
Topics Covered:
◽️ Singapore’s USP
◽️ GSTC Certification
◽️ Sustainable Travel and Tourism
◽️ Sustainable Partners
◽️ The Road Ahead
