The locust plague that is devastating much of East Africa is threatening the lives of millions of people and animals. Since the beginning of 2020 swarms of these finger-long grasshopper-like insects have roamed across Kenya, Ethiopia, Somalia, and threaten India, Pakistan and Yemen. What is even more devastating are the droughts, floods and wars that these nations have been enduring in this decade. The economics alone will exceed billions. What is the cause of these catastrophes and is there any way to cope with them?
