People may enjoy publicly shaming others because it offers a sense of moral superiority and a sense of belonging to a group. It can provide an outlet for anger, deflect attention from personal flaws, and create quick social validation through likes or applause. The rush of outrage can be intoxicating, making judgment feel justified, even when it's harmful.
