7 Herbs That Lower Blood Sugar

  1. Cinnamon - probably the most popular one. Some studies suggest it may improve insulin sensitivity and help lower fasting blood glucose.
  2. Fenugreek - the seeds contain soluble fiber that can slow down carbohydrate digestion and absorption. It's been used traditionally for blood sugar management.
  3. Gymnema sylvestre - sometimes called the "sugar destroyer" in Hindi. It may help reduce sugar absorption in the intestines and improve insulin function.
  4. Berberine - found in several plants like goldenseal and barberry. Research suggests it can be quite effective for blood sugar control, working similarly to some diabetes medications.
  5. Bitter melon - used in traditional medicine across Asia. It contains compounds that may help glucose uptake by cells.
  6. Ginger and 7. turmeric have also shown some promise in studies for helping with blood sugar regulation.
