This Sunday we’ll step into a remarkable stretch of Matthew’s Gospel that shine with the beauty of Jesus’ mercy. In the desperate courage of the Canaanite woman, we’ll witness what Jesus Himself calls “great faith,” a faith that seek out God even when all seems discouraging. In the feeding of the four thousand, we’ll see the wide-open grace of God, overflowing to people far outside what they have brought to the table.
