  • 'Too little too late': The latest update of the RecipeTin Eats and Brooki Bakehouse battle
    May 2 2025

Brisbane's viral baker and owner of Brooki Bakehouse, Brooke Bellamy, has been accused of plagiarising recipes from two bakers.

Nagi Maehashi from RecipeTin Eats took to social media to share a comparison of her caramel slice and baklava to Bellamy's cookbook 'Bake with Brooki.'

The battle has been shared over social media, with Maehashi now asking followers to lay off Bellamy.

Bill McDonald said on 4BC Mornings, "You can't throw the live grenade and then blame someone else for the explosion. It's too little, too late. It's fake. And I think it's disingenuous. And frankly, I think it's laughable."

  • 'Leave it in bloody Brisbane': Mark Levy's plea to keep Magic Round in Queensland
    May 2 2025

The future of Magic Round beyond 2027 is uncertain, as the NRL considers other cities to host the event.

2GB Mornings host and member of the Continuous Call Team, Mark Levy, told Bill McDonlad on 4BC Mornings, "It belongs here. It should stay here. It wouldn't work anywhere else."

"And I say that as somebody who's travelled the country and covered sport. Yes, rugby league works in Perth, it works in Melbourne, all that sort of thing, that's Origin."

" Magic round worked so well at Suncorp Stadium, so I can't believe I'm siding with Queenslanders. Leave it in bloody Brisbane," Levy continued.

  • 'Huge operation': Suncorp Stadium field replaced just days before Magic Round
    May 1 2025

Suncorp Stadium grounds staff have been working tirelessly to prepare the field for Magic Round.

The field was damaged last Friday night, when the Broncos played the Bulldogs, and in the following days, Suncorp Stadium also hosted the Queensland Reds and Brisbane Roar.

Suncorp Stadium Grounds Manager, Matt Oliver, told Bill McDonald on 4BC Mornings, "We've pulled out all the stops to get things ready for Women's Origin and Magic Round."

"We're replacing just over 50% of the rugby league field, just over 3500m²."

"So it is a huge operation, and we are in such a short time frame."

"There's a lot of pressure and there's just a lot of things we've got to get right, and we can't really afford too many mistakes," Mr Oliver continued.
