This week we have another "you can't make this stuff up file" story, a proposal of new permit fees to cover a $16 million DNR budget deficit, and a quick update on "opening weekend".

We also look at the long term results of Wisconsin government's efforts to protect energy ratepayers.

Spoiler: Wisconsin had the lowest energy rates in the Midwest 25 years ago. We are currently 2nd highest in residential rates, and that's before the 2025 and 2026 rate hikes approved by the Wisconsin Public Service Commission.
