The Case of Identity "A Case of Identity" focuses on the jilted lover, Miss Sutherland, who has been left at the altar by her fiancé when he mysteriously disappeared on their wedding day. Miss Sutherland approaches Sherlock to help find him, and he discovers that the truth is stranger than fiction and involves Miss Sutherland's stepfather.

These radio dramas, called The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, were written for radio by Edith Meiser, and starred Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce. Together, they starred in 220 episodes which aired weekly on Mondays from 8:30 to 9:00pm. Basil Rathbone's last episode as the famous detective was "The Singular Affair of the Baconian Cipher". He was eager to separate himself from the show to avoid being typecast in the role. From then until 1950 the series continued with various actors playing the two principal parts.

The series was originally broadcast from Hollywood. During WWII the show was also broadcast overseas through the Armed Forces Radio Service.

The Case of the Illustrious Client "The Adventure of the Illustrious Client" (1924) is one of the 56 Sherlock Holmes short stories written by British author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and one of the 12 stories collected as The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes (1927). It was first published in Collier's in the United States in November 1924, and in The Strand Magazine in the United Kingdom in two parts, in February and March 1925 This episode was dadapted for the 1947 new Adventures of Sherlock Holmes w John Stanley.

The Case of the Ever-Blooming Roses A minister calls Holmes in to investigate the case of the ghostly repeated blooming of roses. Original Air Date: May 16, 1948

John Stanley was an American actor, born in England. Between 1947 and 1949, he played Sherlock Holmes in 78 episodes of the Mutual and ABC radio show Sherlock Holmes (radio 1947-1949) with Alfred Shirley, Ian Martin, George Spelvin as Dr. Watson.
