06.01.25 Look & See | Thy Kingdom Come

Did Jesus speak in parables to make things simpler—or more mysterious? The parables of Jesus are not just clever stories. They reveal the deep truths of God’s kingdom to those ready to receive them and conceal them from those who are not. Reflecting on Matthew 13, my New Testament professor, Don Hagner, once wrote, "The growth of the kingdom is...the work of God.” That truth invites us to consider: How are we receiving and responding to the Word of God?
