In Pathfinder - The Inland Sea, we follow Natty Bumppo, known by many names—La Longue Carabine, Hawk Eye, Leatherstocking, and in this tale, The Pathfinder. A skilled guide, scout, hunter, and when necessary, soldier, Natty navigates the treacherous wilderness of pre-Revolution upstate New York. When his old friend, Sergeant Dunham of the 55th Regiment of Foot, requests his help to escort his daughter, Mable, to the fort at Oswego, danger lurks at every turn. With the French forging alliances with Native American tribes against the British and Yankee colonists, the journey is fraught with peril. Dunham has a plan to see Mable wed to the formidable Pathfinder, but she attracts other suitors along the way. When a military expedition forces them into a remote and hostile garrison, betrayal escalates the tension, and as the soldiers fall victim to ambush, each of them must summon their courage and resourcefulness to survive and escape with their lives.
