Edmond Hamilton (1904 – 1977) was a remarkable author whose career took off as a prolific contributor to the legendary Weird Tales magazine. He is celebrated for his groundbreaking work in the science fiction genre, with the first-ever hardcover collection of sci-fi stories being a compilation of his work. Alongside E.E. “Doc” Smith, he is credited with pioneering the Space Opera genre. Hamilton also made significant contributions to DC Comics, crafting captivating tales for iconic characters like Superman and Batman. Notably, he was married to fellow author Leigh Brackett. In the enthralling story The Stars, My Brothers, published in the May 1962 issue of Amazing Stories, Hamilton introduces us to a re-animated astronaut from a century past, navigating an alien world where the distinctions between humans and animals begin to dissolve.
