Many believers desire freedom from the evils that plague them and may even be taking steps outwardly to turn away from them. But because they do not have a deep appreciation of the true nature of these evils, inwardly they are not at variance with them. This makes the effort to be free half-spirited and superficial, ultimately resulting in no freedom.

In this continuing message, ‘Staring the Enemy in the Face - Part 2’, Pastor Jeffrey Walter unveils the nature of evil as a progression of desire, thought, and action, and explains the purpose of obedience in the fight to be free from evil. He challenges believers to confront evil honestly as it exists within the heart, rather than hiding, suppressing, or superficially resisting it. He teaches that true deliverance begins when the nature of evil is fully seen and surrendered to God.

Through Scripture, practical examples, and personal insight, Pastor Walter addresses issues of addiction, fear, and anxiety, and draws clear parallels between spiritual warfare and mental health. He teaches believers how to “allow the evil to play out” in spiritual warfare—not yielding to temptation, not obeying fearful thoughts, and waiting on God’s power rather than relying on self-effort. He explains that without coming to the place of humiliation with regard to evil, a man cannot be glorified.

Beloved, God calls on us to persevere, trust in His methods, and be confident in His promises. Jehovah, in His mercy, will truly deliver us from our evils if we can see them for what they are and reject them inwardly by not engaging or yielding to them. May God help us.
