Acerca de esta escucha
Many of the popularly held beliefs about hell are not very accurate and often misleading. As a result, many people have made wrong deductions about how a person ends up in hell and what goes on there. For example, the general notion of hell as just a place where one can be kept against their will makes people try to escape the place called hell, while they keep choosing hell in their daily lives.
In this March 2025 Special Programme, Pastor Jeffrey Walter opens our eyes to the spiritual principles and dynamics that define hell. He demonstrates how a good understanding of hell is an important cornerstone in our warfare against hell and striving in our Christian walk the way God wants us to. He reveals why people choose hell in spite of its torment.
In this episode titled "The Nature of Hell", Pastor Jeffrey Walter explains that hell is not first a location but an inward state - the evil desire of loving oneself above all else and loving the world. The “fire” of hell, he teaches, is the lust that drives or consumes us out of selfishness and worldliness as well as the joy and delight we feel when we engage in all forms of evil. Lastly, he reveals that the fire of hell is also the torment one feels when others dominate them and bring to pass their worst fears, which is made possible because of the evils in their heart.
This message calls us to examine the inward state of our heart. Is heaven being formed in us or hell is being formed? As you prayerfully listen, may your heart be moved from selfishness and worldliness and the lust and delight produced from it toward genuine love for God and the neighbor. May God help us.
Scriptures: Isaiah 9:17-18, Matthew 13:41-42, Luke 16:22-26
