In our Christian walk, false ideas (understandings) and negative affections (feelings) often arise within us, as we seek to live for God. Our natural response is to resist them by suppressing them, ignoring and denying those feelings, or reasoning them away. Yet, these efforts only offer us temporary relief, rather than lasting freedom. How, then, can we really overcome the enemies that confront us and enjoy true victory and freedom?

In this message titled “Staring the Enemy in the Face,” Pastor Jeffrey Walter shares a vital spiritual principle for overcoming the enemy and the false ideas and evil affections he stirs up within us. He explains how these falsities arise and why God permits them to surface. He exposes the error in our natural, self-driven efforts to fight the enemy, and why they often prove futile in the long run. Pointing us to God’s way of gaining true victory over the evils that confronts us, he urges us to courageously choose this path, reminding us of God’s sure promise to fight for us and deliver us from the enemy.

Beloved, as you listen to this message, may you be empowered to stop striving with your own strength to defeat the enemy, and may you trust God to win the victory for you.
