Under the guise of a humble seeker, he manages to captivate her attention and speaks passionately about the eternal truths. To his astonishment, Thais experiences a genuine transformation and retreats to a convent, seeking a life of devotion. Yet, Paphnuce finds himself haunted by her beauty and charm, struggling against his own desires through extreme asceticism.
