Acerca de esta escucha
After losing communications during an off-the-books operation, Army Rangers Lieutenant Jason Stafford and Sergeant Miga Raines lead a squadron of soldiers back to mainland America. In their efforts to return to Fort Moore, they discover that a ravenous plague has spread across the globe.
As the losses mount, they learn some of the horrific truths about this dreaded airborne virus—including the fact that, for some unknown reason, children are not infected while almost the entire adult population succumbs and craves human flesh.
The novella follows the military unit as well as a group of four surviving children. The children are rescued from the streets and taken to a secured building with others close to their age. Upon learning of the sheltered children, the squadron responds to the plea to defend the structure from the chronic onslaught of the undead.
Zombie Squadron follows some of the standard undead tropes, but it contains some unusual twists and variations to give it a fresh feel – or feed.
This novella will appeal to fans of The Walking Dead, World War Z, Zombieland, 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, Z Nation, Dead City, Resident Evil, Left 4 Dead, Dead by Daylight, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, George Romero, Night of the Comet and Aliens.

Wish it would have been longer
I got this book (novella) on sale for $3 because I am a fan of the genre and I will read most anything related to zombie fiction. It was a good value for the money - not great but a good return on the investment.
This title was really two short stories in one. The military part was much better than the kids-in-an-apartment building part, but the author seemed to favor the military story more so that was better. Because it was so short, none of the characters were developed much past their names, HOWEVER, this allowed more time for the action sequences. The book's description says most of what you want to know - standard tropes, etc., but zombies attacking their own was a new twist I don't think I had seen before. So I wish the author would have stuck to the Army story and fleshed it out more (even though I realize he is a short story writer).
The one thing that always bothers me in zombie books and movies is how they portray shooting someone in the head as easy. It is the most difficult thing to do, even in practice, but when stress levels are up, adrenaline is flowing, and both the shooter and the target are moving - next to impossible. Even with someone who has trained all their lives (and not just 20 some years as portrayed in the story). It isn't unique to this book but it is always aggravating to hear.
Bottom line - good if you can get it on sale. If he writes a longer book in this universe, I would spend the credit on it for sure.

Would love a follow up book on the children
I listened to the audiobook for this zombie book. I’m not a huge fan of most zombies books/shows/movies but absolutely love The Walking Dead. This definitely kept my interest and my favorite parts was when we were following the activities of the children. I would like a short second book on how the kids fair afterwards. Thanks to the author for offering me this to read.

Exciting and Creepy!!
I listened to the audio version of this book and it was very entertaining! An airborne virus is quickly taking over the world, but the children are not getting infected!
This story is a pretty wild zombie horror/thriller. There’s lots of action, excitement and creeps!
This is my first book from this author and he did a great job! The story is very well written and a quick read/listen. The Narrator did a very good job also!
