ZOHELETH: Tormented, beaten and abused from early childhood, the boy known as 'Serpent' is kept in the dark about his true name and identity until one day, many years later, he stumbles upon the facts for himself. But by this time he is entangled in a web of political intrigue from which escape proves impossible, and it is not only his own future which is suddenly called into question. The fate of the Israelite nation and David its ageing king hangs in the balance as the king's wayward son makes a desperate bid for power and glory.
