Good premise but...

I thought it would be better. Short and confusing. I think that Harold started with a great idea. Sort of a contrast of living Zen while immersed in a world of flesh. But he comes up short. He spits out a few seemingly unconnected stories where it seems like there is a real struggle between his demons and the man he aspires to be, which would be great fodder for the story I was hoping this book would be. But then he quickly switches storylines or jumps to the next situation. He DOES begin to explain a lifelong battle with attention and focus but again, he quickly jumps to something else. Perhaps his inability to focus and concentrate IS the problem with this book. It's scattered and fragmented. He only briefly mentions drug addiction, alcoholism but then skips to something else. The book is also short on details. For a drug addicted porn star there are very few salacious details. There is no grit. I suppose my biggest problem is that at the end of this very brief memoir, no questions are answered. Did Harold find peace? Did he stop porn? He doesn't even clarify whether or not he thinks porn is bad or unhealthy or damaging. He considers those things, but then returns to it and praises the effects. So?...This is basically the cliff notes of what could have been a solid, unique and captivating memoir. And while the narrator has a sexy, clear voice it was weird to hear a woman speaking HIS words in the first person.
