Resumen del Editor

Your Money, Day One poses this question to young adults: Will you control your money or will your money control you? Emphasizing starting early as the key to success, it champions the 'pay yourself first' budgeting plan, the wonders of compound interest, effective habit building, and the role of an emergency fund, and cautions on the lures and risks of credit card debt.

Written with humor and anecdotes, Your Money, Day One provides the basic financial knowledge needed and details the personal responsibility necessary to ensure a successful financial future.

For High Schoolers

I'm not sure if I didn't read the synopsis clearly, but I found this reading's audience to be for those in their high school years. I guess being 28 years old isn't viewed as "young" anymore :)

Overall, I think that the content was worthwhile for its intended audience. For me, it seemed a little too entry level but did have some areas that I found beneficial to me.

Warning: the author attempts to throw in bits of humor and you will almost be able to see the rolling eyes of the teenagers to which he is talking to. Everyone knows that teenagers don't appreciate corny adult humor!

Very Informative and Easy To Understand

I Loved This Book!!!

Michael Wagner simplifies the complicated world of finance into words and actions that can be understood. This book will show you how to master your money. It is empowering! It will really open your eyes and make you WANT to secure your financial future. The anecdotes and real-life scenarios not only helped me understand some difficult concepts, they also made this book fun to read!

I have recommended this book to everyone I know, even people who know how to handle their money!

Excellent read for beginners of finance

If you could sum up Your Money, Day One in three words, what would they be?

informative, robotic, cohesive

What was one of the most memorable moments of Your Money, Day One?

some concepts which are powerful, such as the case studies of people beginning to save at different ages. Nothing in the book truly stands tall as the most memorable though.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance i thought was the books weakest point. The reader telegraphed the fact that he was clearly just reading from the pages and missed an opportunity to draw in the listener by adding more emotion into his voice. Although there were times that were better than others, there were many times i felt like i was hearing a robot read.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

i wouldn't. This is not the kind of book you make a film out of.

Any additional comments?

Definitely a good read for anyone who wants to learn how to improve their financial future. Wagner elaborates on every concept you need to know to fully understand the basics of how you should manage your money for a secure future. Some sections such as the one where we get definitions about what debit and credit cards were seemed long and boring. Other sections, such as the one on mutual funds, were well worth listening to. give this book a shot.
