For the Believer, there is no such thing as mere secular employment, only vocational calling. When we think of men and women of great destiny and calling, we typically think of those people who have helped to shape the events of history. In general, main-line Christianity failed to bring the sense of divine mission down to the man on the street. Our culture has become such a circus of propaganda, larger than life personas, and image branding that we fail to recognize the strong prevailing influence of the everyday person.
In this new book, Jen Tringale encourages and exhorts believers to live in a life-defining moment of time. All throughout the Bible, there are amazing examples of how God sets people up for moments that allow them to become pregnant with purpose. People who live for the purpose of "getting ahead" are different from those who live with a sense of mission and calling. She explains that one moment of favor is worth more than 10 years of labor, and that paying attention to the timing and a rightly discerned moment can pick you up from one place and catapult you to a new level that would have taken years for you to get to in the natural progression of things.
