Resumen del Editor

Music education has been scientifically proven to have cognitive benefits; these benefits include: greater attention span, increased ability in geometrical skills, improved performance in mathematical problem solving and spatial tasks, heightened fluency in reading, and greater short-term and long-term memory. These benefits give music educators a platform from which to advocate for the retention and growth of their programs and to encourage music as a lifelong pursuit.

Excellent and Thought-Provoking!

This text is a much-needed read for not only aspiring music educators, but also for the general audience at large. Advocating for the cognitive benefits of music education should be a prioritized aim!
This book includes data-driven and provoking concepts that inspire the reader to consider music as more than just a hobby- it is a mode for increased cognitive functioning!
The concepts are easy to understand and seamlessly woven together by the author's personal narrative and experiences.
I highly recommend this captivating book!

Well-Put and Easy to Understand

I enjoyed this book. It laid out a clear and concise argument for the importance of music education in the context of its connection with the brain and the brain’s development, as well as after is fully developed. It was well-researched, but was easy to understand despite the numerous scientific studies it referenced. It could easily be used to advocate for music education in schools without much simplification of terms, and I think that people without a music background would be able to glean a lot from it.
