The Values Of Work

liked how the writer tried to send a message to embrace dignity by exbing control. Also liked that Shayna is one the strongest characters, encountered lately. For some reason, however, not sure I liked Callie's performance more so on the previous book. Joe Arden on the other hand knows how to successfully sport panty melting laugh which he's well aware most his fans find him irresistible, me icluded!

This was so good! And Joe and Callie nailed the narration! Lee & Shayna where such between a rock and a hard place since they worked together and there was a no fraternization rule….. they had a hard past they got over but now to figure out how to get to the future!

Fmc is terrible

Fmc is terrible! Yes lee did things wrong but he did everything to prove he was sorry and that he learned with his mistakes. And she hold a grudge during all 8 years plus the entire book . Something bad happens and she freezes him out without remorse! No! She’s annoying

It’s Joe Arden reading! What else is there to know?

Ok, so even if the man read from a phone book, my knees would still go weak listening to him… The story is all right, she’s a bit too uptight for my taste, he really did everything in his power to try and make it right…

It’s okay

The story was alright, I’ve read a lot of Piper Rayne’s books but this one was just okay for me. I love the dual narration but I think Joe Arden as Lee, carried the entire book. It felt flat with Callie Dalton narrating Shayna.

Perfect Sports Romance

Before proceeding to this review, turn around and check out the prequel, False Start, to the first installment of Piper Rayne's new series the "Kingsmen Football Stars." This book can be read as a standalone, but parts of the story will make more sense if the prequel is read first.

If you love second chances, enemies to lovers, secret relationships between a football star and a member of the team's staff, then you will love You've Had Your Chance, Lee Burrows. Shayna is the new athletic trainer for the San Francisco Kingsmen. She is ready to prove herself in primarily male dominated field despite the fact that the star quarterback is none other than her ex-boyfriend from college; Lee Burrows. Shayna is determined to hold onto her grudge for what he did to her but when he begins to show her how truly sorry he is everything changes.

Narrators Joe Arden and Callie Dalton light up listeners earbuds with this wonderful sports romance. These two gave me all the feels from beginning to end. Callie Dalton shines as the determined Shayna. She gave Shayna her all and tried her hardest to keep from falling for the ever so charming, Mr. Arden. I don't blame Shayna for not being able to stay mad at Lee Burrows. He dominant, growly, and has a heart of gold; all things that Joe Arden is. These two narrators were magic together.

Great Start to the Series

I really enjoy the writing duo of Piper Rayne, and it's stories like this one that have me continuously reading their books. I did receive an ARC but since the audiobook was released early I purchased the audio and I am so glad that I did because Joe Arden and Callie Dalton did a phenomenal job with bringing Lee Burrows and Shayna Kudrow to life.

Lee and Shayna dated in College but it came to a screeching halt when Shayna found out Lee had made a bet with a teammate about getting Shayna into bed with him...guys should learn that women have a way of always finding things out and maybe they'd stop doing dumb things. Well, here we are eight years later and Shayna has just been hired on as one of the Kingsmen's trainers and Lee is their star quarterback.

I loved the fact that Lee has always thought about how he screwed things up and now he has a chance to redeem himself and possibly get a second chance but you know there are going to be obstacles in their way.

I would recommend this book to those that enjoy Steamy Sports Contemporary Romances, Enemies-to-Lovers Romance, Second Chance Romances, or Workplace Romances.

My new guilty pleasure

These narrators are great together. I’m glad they don’t try to voice each other’s voices… note to self: I need to jot down the steamy sections so I can have my boyfriend listen. Then we all get happy endings ;)

Boring

I cannot tell you a single thing that happened in this book. It was a lot of pointless chatter that slowed the book down. I’ve read the prequel false start and I was very excited about this book and couldn’t wait to read it. But it kept putting me to sleep.
