After the realization that her knight in shining armor, Bishop is actually a bat out of hell, Vera is determined to escape. With the help of her best friend, Essence and a man by the name of Torrence, Vera finally pulls it off. Unfortunately, her leaving made her become an enemy of some very dangerous people.

Almost immediately, Vera is reminded that there are good men on the planet and she is deserving of one. Torrence goes above and beyond to protect her from her husband. So much so that he put his own family in the line of danger while doing so. He began falling hard for Vera. This caused him to not fear a man like Bishop even though he knew that he absolutely should. This upset Bishop.

With his pride and ego hurt, Bishop makes the decision to go hunt for Vera, Essence and Torrence. Using his money and power in the streets, he makes her life a living hell. She quickly becomes the enemy of not one but two notorious mafia families simply because she wants to escape her husband.

In the process of trying to stay alive, Vera runs into the very person she had been searching for her entire life. her baby brother, Payne. Unbeknownst to her, he had been right up under her nose the entire time. Luckily for her, he was just as ruthless as the people she was running from. With his help and the help of Torrence, Vera and Essence go to war for their own happiness and freedom.

it's a sad but beautiful story I recommend it as a read she's a strong powerful woman it's a very very good
