A vow he couldn’t break—and a girl he couldn’t forget…

Seventeen-year-old Jem Hardy pleaded with the wagon master. He had to join the wagon train, had to cross the Oregon Trail, had to keep a sacred promise—but he couldn’t reveal the truth.

Grudgingly, the man took him on as a scout.

Jem had never scouted a mile in his life. But he had another set of skills. Skills no one could imagine.

As the courageous men and women of the wagon train face bandits, bloodshed, and betrayal, Jem’s secret could save their lives—or doom them all.

YONDER is the first book in a thundering saga of sacrifice and survival, where love blooms against impossible odds, and the true measure of a man is forged in the crucible of hardship.

Liked it and enjoying the foreshadowing and clues being left. Started reading silent Justice now reading more from author and enjoying it

Enjoying the story and the author

I loved the main characters, Jim and Charlotte. The cast was great too. I’m also a fan of the narrator Mr. White. The story is truly entertaining and well developed.

Development of a leader.

I choose this book because Michael Alan White was the narrator and his performances are always the best. The story is engaging, drama filled and the characters are interesting. The book is a continuation to the next in the series however, book 1 ended at a really good place. I would definitely recommend. The biggest down fall; is when will the next book 2 be available? And, I really hope the whole series will be performed by the same Narrator.

Good story and great characters “Yonder” series #1

so I don't know how good the story is. I've tried and tried to listen to this as I have enjoyed the other John Deacon books. This narrator is just awful. Well, if you are looking for something to put you to sleep, perhaps this might be just the ticket. Love John Deacon books but going to find others with A.T Chandler as the narrator... Now Chandler is one of the best I've ever heard. Why audible (or whomever) switched is beyond me. But typical -- take something that works and break it.

Possible the worst narrator I have ever heard

This is a book more about feeling and relationships on a wagon train and not a western in the sense of good guys and bad guys. If made into a movie I would call it a " chick flick ".

Not what I thought

Usually John Deacon’s story’s are great. This one felt like it was written by someone else. Not nearly enough action and a lot of how “she is feeling” soap opera type stuff. Not sure why he didn’t stick to his usual great style.

Good, not great
