For as long as professional wrestling has existed, fans have passionately debated the question, "What if?" This volume journeys into several of wrestling’s most pivotal and often criticized eras, exploring the endless possibilities branching off from every creative decision. It is a vessel for the ultimate fan fantasy: the impulse to rewrite history and build a better world from the raw materials of talent and circumstance.

Our first deep dive reimagines the wrestling landscape in the chaotic aftermath of the Monday Night Wars and the botched WCW/ECW InVasion angle. We then turn the clock back to a creatively stagnant 1993, asking what would have happened if the WWF had discovered its love for high-stakes gimmick matches five years early. No exploration of alternate histories would be complete without tackling the moment that changed everything, as we unwind the tangled web of the Montreal Screwjob to see what timeline could have emerged had it never happened.

The book also explores what might have happened if a struggling ECW had been purchased by WCW in 1997, integrating its stars and storylines into the white-hot NWO landscape. In a completely different exercise, a reader's challenge is accepted to take a roster of supremely talented but underutilized wrestlers from 2009 and intentionally book them into the ground. Finally, the much-maligned HDNet era of Ring of Honor is rewritten to bring its creative direction more in line with its business success.

Each scenario is laid out in a detailed narrative format, walking you through the weeks and months of these alternate realities as they unfold. The feuds begin, escalate, and conclude at reimagined pay-per-view events, creating an immersive experience as if you are watching forgotten shows from a parallel universe. Grounded in the reality of the time, these rewritten histories use the actual rosters, characters, and circumstances as a launchpad for a new narrative. We are not just changing who wins or loses; we are changing the motivations, the journeys, and the very fabric of the wrestling worlds they inhabit.
