This book is a compilation of previous poetic works, based Kaitlyn’s Facebook page, where she shared her personal experience in video blog posts for #SpokenWordWednesday from 2020 to 2024. She shares each week on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.
Her hope in writing this book is to give people what they need to hear through God’s word, illuminate Scripture’s relevance to today, encourage readers towards Jesus and out of their struggles, and ultimately help empower them to live their lives to the full through the God who loves them.
The following is a sample chapter from page 44.
“Unbelief”
I ask You for strength
and then accuse You of not loving me
when You give me chances to be stronger
I ask You for patience
and then tell You
I can’t take this any longer
I ask You to make me better
and then grumble at Your training
I ask for fruitful harvest
and then lament when it starts raining
So often You give me
just exactly what I request
But not in the way I wanted it
so, time and time again I fail the test
So, God, please help me to reflect
on Your mysterious yet perfect ways
And help me to remember
that You’re holding all my days
Help me to believe that You are good
and in You find all relief
Mark 9:24 I do believe,
help me overcome my unbelief
