Wolfsreach Academy

On an arid grey rock of a planet, at the fringes of human controlled space, sits Wolfsreach Academy, a military school for the children and orphans of the Confederation Armed Forces. A place for its students to train, so they can one day join humanity’s war against the alien, Kylnnar.

Yet the aliens are winning, and the Confederation forces are falling back in the face of their enemy’s relentless advance. When the Confederation Navy bungles the evacuation of the students, two hundred teenagers are left stranded with an alien fleet on the way, bent on their destruction. Outnumbered, outgunned and out of options, the students can do only one thing: Fight.

Joanna Hakeswell and Simon Kim, two young cadet lieutenants, are left in command, but neither has any combat experience and they cannot even agree who should be in charge. Can they bury their differences and produce a plan to defeat seemingly insurmountable odds?
