Full Cast Audio does a commendable job with this huge cast, which includes animals, humans, and immortals. The range of voices is as broad as the characters, with the main narrator continually adopting a style that matches the pace of the action. In addition to Daine, the most fascinating character is Kitten, a baby dragon. Young listeners will be enchanted.

Having purchased Wild Magic, the first book in Pierce's Daine trilogy, I have been waiting a long time for this one. (They say that Emperor Mage, number 3, should be available around November.)
This is one of those books that I liked even better as an audiobook - Full Cast Audio did their usual excellent job.

Kept me out of trouble for quite a long time
Loved this book. Once I started reading I could not put it down. Going to read more of this author.

Great for young listeners
This is the second book in the second series. All of these series are tied together so it is best to start withe the Lioness series. This is a fun story especially for anyone who ever wondered what animals could do if faced with mining or deforestation.

Great as always!
Tamora Pierce spins wonderful tales, and Full Cast has wonderful actors. Her writer's voice is always a joy to hear, and the cast just makes things even more lovely.
