Lee, charismatic leader of the Confederate forces. Bound by duty to take a position he did not seek and does not want, Meade reluctantly accepts Lincoln’s appointment, and overnight, the fate of nearly 100,000 Union soldiers is in his hands.

This book is a novel and not a history book but I am nevertheless pleased General Meade got better treatment than he often gets.
The created dialogue of the main characters may not always be realistic but I think I got better acquainted with the actual living people.
