Go, Livvy!

This was a great book and I cant wait to hear book 3. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I'm glad I didnt credit the review that said the love story was weak - there's nothing weak about this book. The H was an ass, but he was also not to be underestimated. The h was kick ass- I mean the scene where she threatened to drag a certain lady by her coiffure and out of her house? I felt that in my soul. The HEA was so sweet.

It was a great book 2, book 3 better come with all the trappings because finally, we're getting Evie's story.

Love the chemistry and storyline. Did not loose my interest like some do. Narration was also well done. For mature audience.

Jane Austen is BLUSHING!!

I have read quite a few of the Jane Austen Fan Fiction versions of her classic Pride & Prejudice and the similarities in the bones of this story are all there.

If you are familiar with that story then imagine Mr. Darcy’s reserve and hauter is due to his trying to control his emotions in order to avoid the abuse he saw his father inflict on his mother because of jealousy and temper. There is our hero, Tobias.

Imagine Lizzie with red hair and talent for painting and horse riding. Yeah, only real difference in our heroine, Olivia. (Nicknamed Livie) Despite being quite thoroughly compromised, she refuses to marry without love.

Now, add an ailing stepfather for Livie, the mother is still anxious, though with only one daughter not quite as silly.

Livie has a small dowry, though her father was a Baron who died in a scandalous manner, she is not on the same level as Tobias, an Earl.

Now, give our lead characters an overpowering passion for each other, despite not liking each other and arguing at each encounter (are you starting to see what I mean?), and allow them to forget propriety enough to be caught in a scandal themselves and you have the base of this story.

Fans of Mr. Darcy will hope that he has the passion and skill (oh my) of Tobias, which lead to some VERY hot and steamy sexual encounters.

We even have an elopement to Gretna Greene…..no more information or I’ll give away a spoiler.

This is no “classic” like P&P, but it is a great story with a skilled narrator.

It’s a nice addition to the series.

Rollicking read.

The reader does a good job of bringing the story to life. These Regency novels help the boring every day tasks go by and i can't get enough of them. Thoroughly enjoyable.

Best of the Series

I love these 2 people!
Their story is the most believable.
it's wonderful, sad, sexy, and ties almost all the other main characters from the other books into their tale.
Many people tie themselves in knots over their turbulent childhoods, and this Lord and Lady are not exceptions.
I adore his little sister, and all the adventures everyone of them get in and out of...

Great Author

This is my second book from this author and she is excellent. She writes with such passion. The story line was very interesting and I read it straight through. I did not really enjoy the narrator, but the story makes up for it.
