Kept me guessing

I very much enjoyed this book, finished it in 2 days, becomes a bit PG13 at times, but the love these characters share made my heart so full, despite the challenges. Super surprised by the twist towards the end, not what I was expecting!

Great twists and kept me engaged. The narrators were fantastic. Spicy, twisty, turns, and enough humor to give it levity without taking away from the plot.

Kiersten Modglin's "Where the Darkness Goes" is a masterfully crafted psychological thriller that captivated me from the first page. The story follows a complex city, whose dark past and inner demons are slowly revealed as the plot unfolds. Modglin's writing is atmospheric and suspenseful, perfectly capturing the eerie and foreboding tone of the story.

What struck me most about this book was the way Modglin expertly weaves together multiple plot threads, creating a complex and twisty narrative that kept me guessing until the very end. The characters are multidimensional and relatable, with their own unique motivations and flaws that drive the story forward.

The pacing is expertly handled, with a slow-burning tension that builds to a heart-pounding climax. Modglin's writing is engaging, and her ability to craft a suspenseful story is unmatched.

And, as a fun bonus, the reference to the JoJo song was a delightful surprise - it added a touch personality to the story that I thoroughly enjoyed. If you're a fan of psychological thrillers, "Where the Darkness Goes" is a must-read.

I love KM books and couldn’t wait to get into her newest. It has a bit of spice and a thriller. Finished it in a day. Loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed this one! Lots of twists and turns keep it interesting throughout and held my interest until the very end!

Silly

This was a waste of a credit. It was some sort of romcom with murders thrown in as an afterthought. Based on the initial tone of the main character - almost giddy as she was on her way to her childhood best friend’s funeral I almost gave up early on. Silly is the only way I could describe it. Except for some of the sex scenes- could have been a YA book.

It read like a high school romance novel

It seemed so very sappy and overly dramatic between the main characters and far less of a mystery than a high school romance.
