Resumen del Editor

Forensic anthropologist Emma Graves knows about the dead. But can the dead help her remember why she’s still alive?

When you are lost....

Emma Graves was only eight years old when a tragic school bus accident shattered the rural community where she grew up. When the bus was discovered, the driver was dead and Emma, her older sister, and her sister’s best friend were missing. A frantic search through the cold, dark woods in the surrounding area began. As the sun rose the next morning, a cold and terrified Emma was found. Emma remembered little else beyond watching through the fractured windshield as her sister and her friend walked away from the bus to find help. Spring turned into summer and then to fall, and the missing girls never came back.

When you come back....

Twenty-five years later, Emma is all grown up. Though she is an acclaimed forensic anthropologist, her personal life is a different matter. After surviving another tragic accident, this one at a dig, Emma needs to hide somewhere and pull herself together again. After all, she has been fractured since she was eight years old; this breakdown has been coming for a long time. Going home is her only choice. The last thing she expected to find on her return was two more young girls missing. The small town is torn apart all over again. With Emma back, attention turns to her. What is she hiding? Why can’t she remember what really happened that day 25 years ago? Why is she back in town now and two more children are missing? When human remains are found deep in a cave that requires Emma’s expertise in retrieving them, the truth may just be more than anyone bargained for.

Tense!

Power and cover-up of a 20-year-old tragedy lead our heroines on a sleuthing expedition to find the truth.
Well-written.

Mitzi Pirkey does a great job narrating and bringing the characters to life.

Gripping Story

Emma was known as the girl who came back, a part of her is still missing. Her sister and her friend never found, now twenty five years, another mishaps and Emma is broken. Going home to heal, only to find heartache for two are missing. Her stories are always gripping, deep-with emotion and twists and turns. Getting ARC audio.brought out the depth of emotion and the chilling effect it has been on this town. Great narration of which I voluntary review and my honest opinion

When you come back

I could barely put this book down!It was so exciting! Emma is the child left behind after a bus accident. Her sister and another girl go for help, and dissapear forever. When two girls go missing years later Emma is back in town.It is not a good time for anyone. There were a few parts I was a bit confused over, but all in all a solid book. Mitzi Pirkey was a fine narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'

Narrator should drop the “southern” accents!

The storyline is great. It is a little to drawn out but is well written and mostly kept my attention. I am from Alabama and thought I would enjoy the setting being so close to my home town. The narrator had no idea how to pronounce the towns, seriously mobile is movement. Mobile is Mo-Bill or Mo-Beal, a costal town. When she read the book without trying to sound southern then the story flowed along fine.

The plot is based on a 25 year old disappearance of two teenage girls from a small town. The younger sister returns home and ends up involved in finding out what really happened all those years ago. There were a few twists and some good secrets to the story as well as a few emotional moments. I do recommend reading or listening to the book, but I will not be looking for anything from this narrator in the future.

A very interesting and well written story

I really recommend it. It kept me wondering who did it, when, why, and wanting to hear more. I loved it!

The narrator does a great job of maintaining the attention of the listener. It is really easy to tell who is talking.

Emotional thriller

Wonderfully written and narrated. Lots of burried emotions. Another who done it with a surprise ending.
Another story of small home town who do you trust.
This was my first time reading Debra Webb but it won't be my last she is an awesome author and the narration by Mitzi Pirley spot on.
I received this free for an honest review by the author or narrator.

When You Come Back

I have listened to several of Debra Webb’s books and have enjoyed all of them. This one, however, is absolutely the best! I loved this book! It, for me, was good from the first word. I grew to know each of the characters and felt a part of the entire story. Each of the four main characters had their good points and bad, but the thing that came across so vividly was their strength and the bond that existed among them. I could relate so well to the small town politics, the jealousy and the lives each lived. The story itself was just amazing and one in which I became completely absorbed. What a tale of loss and persistence and determination of all the characters. The secrets that were withheld even within the close circle of these friends. The narration? Perfect!! The distinction among characters was good, but I will never forget Helen. That was so spot on. I could hear her speaking as though I’d known her for years. The emotional journeys that these four went through ranged from low to high, and the forgiveness shown by Emma for many of the characters was such a wonderful example of the way we should all approach our lives.

I could go on and on - even more than I already have - but the thing to remember is that you should read this book. It is well written, a great story, a puzzle not easily solved and a terrific life lesson. Thanks to Debra Webb for another great book, and to Mitzi Pirkey for a great reading.
