Emma lost her parents when she was just a little girl. Sarah, her mother's best friend took her in and she becomes family with them. Finn watched the van pull away until its taillights faded from view, taking with them all hopes of Emma returning his affections. The sun had now set, enveloping him in cold darkness. Finn headed for home alone, finally allowing the tears to fall unchecked.He screamed into the still night air, the sound ripping from his soul. All the years of unspoken words, looks of longing, dreams for a future with Emma - now turned to ash forever. Back in his bedroom, Finn fell onto the bed utterly spent. He clutched at the wilted pink roses strewn nearby, as if trying to resuscitate his shattered heart. But it was no use. She was never his to begin with, Finn realized. And now she never would be. All he could do was bury his feelings deep inside and try somehow to let her go.
