When an alien entity uses plagues to wipe out 99.5% of Earth’s population only 3,000 people survive in twenty isolated locations around the globe. North American survivors and their newly sentient dogs decide to gather in Key West, Florida, where the weather is warm, fish are plentiful and the island is an isolated and secure refuge.
