Amazing Overview and Unexpected Sleep Story

I learned a lot with this book. It’s not I’m depth but still great information. I love the narration and subject so much I have listened to it numerous time as a sleep story on a 45 minute timer. Calming.

A beautiful mix of history, imagery and current use of magic. This a very approachable book, well told and full of lovey ways to enhance celebration of the wheel of the year

Not that good

I’ve read better. The saving grace was the person reading it. She was a delight.

Entry Level

Very entry-level book.
Not bad at all for someone new or just interested in magic but not for someone who has any experience at all.

I would not purchase again

This book didn't go over the wheel of the year as much as I was hoping for.

Subjective opinion of folklore

I like the small bits of information, but those are lost in archaic interpretations of folklore by the author. Not at all helpful to the reader. The title is misleading. A lot of the factual information in the book is misleading too. Pretty, poetic, but overall useless.

Full of Misinformation

I added this book to my library to try and deepen my connection do the seasonal festivals but I couldn’t get past the first chapter. The author is determined to link every symbol to the Moste Ancient Pagan Mysteries, and who needs a little thing like evidence or historical context?

Any symbol from Santa Clause to anything on a Christmas ornament is linked to a completely fictional ancient pagan past. Maybe a wren is a symbol of the God or maybe.. hear me out here. Maybe it’s a bird known to appear around that time and people like birds

Wasn’t worth my time

While the narrator was a delight and there are some great tidbits this did not really teach me about the wheel and the author assumes everyone has access to feulds of fresh vegetables and fruits and a wine cellar and a beach. Not so much and it felt like being talked down to because I don’t have access to those pieces.
