supportive recipes
This book succeeded in drawing attention to the dangers of wheat and the benefits of a low-carb diet beyond what I
thought possible. The cookbook builds a convincing case against this new plant that he says shouldn't even be called "wheat," and he documents most of his arguments with supportive recipes. I was already avoiding most grains and decided to eliminate wheat after reading Wheat Belly. I have been following a low-carb lifestyle and writing about it for over 13 years, so it wasn't a radical change for me.
I do have a major concern about the Wheat Belly books, however. 10 out of the 29 recipes in the original Wheat Belly call for flax, as do most the recipes in this book. Flax meal has become a staple food for
who want to avoid wheat. It is used in gluten-free baked goods and as a flour replacement in low-carb foods. It is also used as a substitute for eggs in low-fat and vegan recipes and as a supplement to provide fiber and omega-3 fats. Many people are eating it in great amount, thinking it is the ultimate superfood or, as one writer said to me, "The most powerful food on the planet."The Wheat Belly slow cooker Cookbook also does an excellent job of explaining why we need to ditch wheat and other high-carb foods and makes the case that modern wheat was not adequately tested for human consumption. But flax hasn't stood the test of time either, the question remains is flax as risky as wheat? Perhaps not, but eating too much of it, you may just be replacing one untested food with another.

summary of the wheat belly book.
This cookbook gives a summary of the wheat belly book. It has recipes for all meals of the day and testimonies of people who have lost lots of weight and a fast variety of health issues. I found them very encouraging especially in the startup when I did not have much energy, to keep going It not a joke! I lost 12 kg in a month and still loosing between 1-3 kg per week. (remember, I did not start out to loose weight but it was a very welcome bonus!) infact, my sweet tooth has disappeared which makes it the easiest diet to stick to as I have never been able to stick to diets thinking I had no will power, now I know absolutely differently! I gained enough energy and more to match my 3 pre-schoolers and many other health and life style improvements. last week when I took my brood to the park they asked me if we could go home yet! Cannot recommend this book enough!

This is a great book!
This wheat belly slow cooker cookbook is the follow-on book to the original Wheat Belly book which was a direct challenge to the "Big Food" manufacturers who according
to William Davis have successfully marketed the "wrong" type of foods for the last fifty years. It is quit unfortunate, instead of the candid and direct style of the
original book this is very much in the vogue of so many cookbooks in that the recipes call for a dash of this herb and dash of that flavoring making the recipes very
much more complex than the simple and direct message of the original book. Highly recommended!

perfectly right
There are many books on the market about this wheat belly of a thing. What I believes sets this book apart from all other wheat belly books is
the way the author acknowledges how tough it is to cut wheat out of the diet. I found information in regard to other grains very interesting. I will say this, the
author is perfectly right, cutting wheat out of my diet is tough on two levels: 1st - wheat is practically in everything; 2nd- I am finding it much harder to feel
full. I eat so much more green stuff (salads) and various proteins, but not having any wheat / grains means I'm constantly hungry. Honestly, I'm trying to manage this
but it does take enormous Will power. In fact, I want to retrain my body on how to absorb carbs from different (non wheat /grains) foods. This will take a while. I do
recommend this book.

convincing
My daughter is not gluten intolerant but she definitely has a gluten or wheat sensitivity and has adopted a wheat free lifestyle. Since discovering this wheat belly slowcooker cookbook, she has gone gluten free. However, finding this difficult to cater for, in a family situation, I have been reading everything I can lay my hands on; on the subject matter, and accompanying menu suggestions.
This wheat belly cookbook sets out the problems regarding wheat very succinctly.
In fact, the book has convinced me that modern wheat is bad for us, and it has persuaded me to cut down - but I am not ready to eliminate it totally from my lifestyle yet.I can recommend Wheat Belly.

plenty of information like the original book
I stumbled upon this book on the internet when I was looking for "Trim Healty Mama". About 4 years ago I read the original "Wheat Belly" after loosing around 50lbs on HCG. I should have taken the advise seriously because I gain 35 lbs back after a while, mostly from wheat products. I just finished a round of HCG doing the HCG 2.0 protocol. Lost 18 lbs. So am looking for a cookbook that limited carbs. The Wheat Belly slowcooker Cookbook had information from the 1st book I forgot about. I realized while reading it for me to keep the weight off and hopefully loose more I have to give up wheat forever, and limit other grains. I decided to purchase the book used on Amazon. So glad I did. This cookbook has plenty of information like the original book. Why eliminate wheat; I really need that reinforcement close at hand to remind myself just how bad wheat is. This cookbook has plenty of recipes because unlike other cookbooks. I will recommend to all wheat belly lovers!

Q
This wheat belly cookbook is well written and does forewarn on the difficulties. It is worth it. I have noticed changes digestion and fat loss overtime. Which is very pleasantly surprising; I used to be a macrobite ( macrobiotics) and it's fascinating to me that I've had a complete change of mind about macrobiotics after reading this wheat belly slow cooker book-for me- it does make logical sense. However, it will be a journey one which won't be marked with complete perfection- I anticipate eating a pasta dish once a month after a couple of months of following this recipe guideline.
I have worked my way through this as soon as it arrived because in recent years I have felt very bloated after eating bread and my son is feeling this too. This cookbook makes a lot of sense in what he writes, and the range of recipes is very good - although an American cookbook, the ingredients are fairly easy to get hold of.
