Excellent book - loved it!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.It glorifies and magnifies God and Christ; and exhort the saints.

Amazingly insightful, timely for 2022

Boice describes problems and offers solutions for regrettable state of church (at least in USA) today.

Terrifically done!

This writing is timeless it teaches us how Christianity is becoming water down by Christians trying to become more relevant to the world!

Amazing Truth About the Need of the True Gospel

Very well read for following this book. True Christians should find this book refreshing and heart warming. Those who have doubts or aware that they don't know the Lord Jesus Christ I suggest listening closely and may you truly find what you are searching for.

Still Relevant To Today!

Although written some 20 years ago, this book is highly relevant to today! The author carefully and systematically lays out the dangers of modern/progressive “Christianity”. At the same time, he does an exceptional job explaining

Boice writes an extensive and thoughtful treatment of the 5 Solas of the Reformation and their importance to the church. He also gives a fair historical perspective of the assault on them over the last 100+ years in the world and the American church. I though his observations were balanced and fair, so I heartily recommend this volume to all.

Voice is without equal among modern Christian writers! You owe it to yourself to spend time I this great book!

Bryce at his best

Educated, thoughtfully, articulate, comparative Christian approach to Grace. Sola Gratia. Calvinist leaning, Presbyterian instructed, good news.

It's a great book. Definitely one view.

I loved the theological content. Logical explanations, examples, etc. I did not agree with all of it, but that's OK.
I did feel the author went a little hard on modern chirches in the last couple of chapters. Yes, old hymns are not used a lot anymore. I don't especially like it either, but I realize "the church" is a social institution and, as such, changes to be relevant to society (note..relevant to, not conformed with..). There actually is some great modern Christian music, while also being aware that some of the chorus today are just a word salad of modern thinking.
Christians would be well advised to listen to the rest of the chapters though, I found a lot of great material here, excellent job.
