Acerca de esta escucha
This book outlines one of the most important evidences of the authenticity of the Book of Mormon. It describes the "two-sets-of-plates" explanation for why Joseph translated the plates of Nephi (D&C 10) in Fayette after translating the abridged plates in Harmony.
Moroni deposited the abridged plates in the stone box in the Hill Cumorah. These were the plates Joseph took to Harmony, Pennsylvania. He translated them there. But as we read in D&C 10, the Lord told Joseph that instead of re-translating the Book of Lehi (the lost 116 pages), he would have to translate the plates of Nephi.
Except he didn't have the plates of Nephi--yet.
This book explain show Joseph obtained the plates of Nephi and translated them in Fayette, New York. The explanation offers additional evidence for the reality of the plates, the reality of the divine messengers who helped Joseph Smith bring the Book of Mormon to the world, and the reality of the Hill Cumorah in New York.
The traditional version of Church history is that Moroni buried the golden plates in the Hill Cumorah in a stone-and-cement box he built in the hillside. 1400 years later, Moroni directed Joseph Smith to the stone box. In 1827, Joseph obtained the plates and translated them into what is now known as the Hill Cumorah. The traditional story is correct regarding the "original" Book of Mormon, as Joseph described it. But the "original" Book of Mormon did not include the small plates of Nephi. Today, this is known as 1 Nephi through Words of Mormon. Where did Joseph get the plates of Nephi? And what has become of the plates? Where are they now? These questions and more are answered in this book.
It is an awesome book for LDS audiences who are familiar with Church history and want to learn more.
