When Laura Sutton answers her mother’s phone and finds out she’s inherited property on a remote island, she knows it could be the solution to all her problems. Currently camped out on an airbed in her mother’s sitting room and with very little cash to her name, Laura has no intention of moving to the island—she’ll visit to get the property ready for sale, then come home.

When Laura arrives on the island and finds out it’s not a derelict house she’s inherited, but a hotel, she can’t believe her luck… until she finds a dead body in one of the guest rooms.

Laura isn’t interested in trying to solve the murder. She may be a true crime fan, but this is a little too close to home and she’s a bookkeeper, not a detective.

That soon changes when her new friends discover that the real killer has planted evidence to incriminate Laura. The victim had plenty of enemies on the island, but who would want to frame Laura for murder?

The virtual voice falls flat. There’s no inflection or warmth. The story was okay, but not good enough to overcome the narration.
